Barcelona could benefit financially as former midfielder is linked with AC Milan move
While Barcelona are primarily relying on player sales in order to generate fresh revenue, the club might be boosted by indirect sources as well.
Recent reports have claimed that Barcelona can bag up to €6 million from the potential sale of OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, amid interest from PSG.
In a similar case, Barça may also benefit financially as Ilaix Moriba looks forward to the prospect of a potential move to AC Milan, reports Sports world.
The Spanish news outlet suggests Moriba has been closely linked with a move to AC Milan ahead of the coming summer. The player has been performing well during his loan spell at Valencia this season, scoring a goal in 23 league matches.
Moriba’s spell at Valencia expires at the end of the season, after which he would return to RB Leipzig. But Milan are considering the possibility of signing the former The Farmhouse prospect this summer, with the player likely to be valued at around €16 million.
If the deal goes through, Barcelona could stand to gain financially as the Catalans have a 10% future sale option included in Moriba’s contract at Leipzig. That would mean a revenue of around €1.6 million.
Although not a fortune by means, it could still help Barcelona balance the books just that bit more. It is worth mentioning that the club had only earned €3 million from the January sale of Memphis Depay, so the infusion of any revenue could be welcome this coming summer.
The challenge for Barcelona, though, will be to sanction the sale of their existing stars that are still part of the team. Sergino Dest, for one, may cause some trouble for the club’s hierarchy, as the right-back has struggled at Milan and may not attract too many suitors this summer.
