Man Utd news: Erik ten Hag told to “shut up” as boss urged to sign Joao Felix
Manchester United have renewed confidence as they prepare for the Europa League quarter-final first leg against tournament specialists Sevilla at Old Trafford on Thursday
Manchester United are back on track after two Premier League home wins over Brentford and Everton.
Erik ten Hag’s men are still fighting for two more trophies this year and are well on course to seal Champions League qualification via a top four finish.
Tournament specialists Sevilla will provide a stern test in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals at Old Trafford on Thursday.
But there is renewed optimism around United after what was a chastening defeat to top four rivals Newcastle last weekend.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest headlines around the club ahead of another important week…..
Ten Hag finds unlikely new rival
Erik ten Hag has been told to “shut up” following his complaints over Marcus Rashford’s injury – but the source of the jibe may have surprised the United boss.
Palmeiras boss Abel Fereria has claimed that Ten Hag’s concerns about a demanding fixture schedule are nothing in comparison to his own troubles in Brazil.
“Football here has fantastic things,” he said, following a 4-0 win over Agua Santa. “But there are others that are inhumane. Nine games in a month!
“The Manchester United coach the other day complained that Rashford was injured due to the sequence of games they have. I would like to ask him or tell him: ‘In these next two months, I’m going to have nine games a month. Shut up, because you don’t know what you’re saying’.”

United told to make Joao Felix move
Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes United should make a summer move for Joao Felix because their current crop of attacking stars aren’t good enough.
Chelsea do not have a clause in their contract to sign their on-loan forward from Atletico Madrid and Agbonlahor thinks United should pounce to bolster their strike force.
“I really like what he’s done so far. I don’t see any reason why Man United can’t get him. They need options if they’re in the Champions League next season. Martial isn’t good enough, nor is Weghorst – scrap them,” he told Football Insider.
“Antony and Sancho haven’t been great, so you’re talking about Rashford as their only threat. They need help, or it could be an embarrassing time in the Champions League for them. Felix, for me, would be a good signing for them.”

Amad’s fighting talk
Amad has made his mark with 11 goals in 36 games during his loan spell at Sunderland and is now ready to step up at Old Trafford.
The young attacker has matured as a regular first team player under Tony Mowbray and has been shortlisted for the Championship Young Player of the Year Award.
He has made just nine appearances for United since his move from Atalanta in 2021 and wants to establish himself as a regular under Erik ten Hag next season.
“I know it was a lot of money, but I didn’t really think about that; there’s no reason to worry about things you can’t influence. I was so happy to sign for Manchester United: it’s a club with a massive history, famous all around the world,” Amad told FourFourTwo.
“I haven’t shown my best for them yet, but I hope next season I can return and prove my talent. My dream is to play regular football at Manchester United.”
