Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd’s Timber worry, Mane Bayern future in doubt, Arsenal and Chelsea latest
Italian giants AC Milan are stepping up their interest in Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun.
Arsenal could be open to a £30m sale for the 21-year-old striker who has spent this season on loan at French club Reims this season.
RB Leipzig have also been watching developments on Balogun who was born in the United States but has played for England under-21s and is now at the centre of a tug-of-war over his senior international future.
Milan have made a habit of recruiting young players, developing their talent and turning them into a success as they have done with ex-Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.
Balogun has been a huge success in France and there will be strong interest in him this summer and Arsenal may decide to cash in to help fund strengthening the squad in other departments.
They are red-hot favourites to sign West Ham’s England midfielder Declan Rice who would cost £80m-plus this summer.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta sees Rice as a top priority while they also want other additions ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.
Arsenal could yet look for more midfield reinforcements, full back cover and they have been in the market for a dynamic winger in the past two wingers and may still strengthen in that area despite the success of Leandro Trossard.
Newcastle are interested in Kieran Tierney who has lost his starting place to Oleksandr Zinchenko and that could raise up to £30m to again bolster Arsenal’s spending power this summer.
